My boyfriend and I dined here on Saturday evening. The food was pretty good! I had the se-ew with chicken and my boyfriend had the cashew chicken. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals.Unfortunately, we each had the exact meal at a restaurant in Halifax a few days earlier, which made it impossible not to notice that our meals at Damda were inferior in taste and quality to the cheaper, larger, and yummier meals we had... What Felice Cattaneo dislikes about Damda:
We visited Damda for dinner and I was excited all week to try this place for dinner. My wife and I were both beyond starving. She ordered the sweet and sour chicken. It was ok tasting but we were shocked at how small the portions were. One ice cream scoop of rice and the amount of chicken and veggies barley covered the plate. I ordered the cashew chicken same issue there just wasn't enough food for a $21 plate. We sh... View all feedback.

Efficient. The food was absolutely delicious, I highly recommend trying the seafood pasta. The portion sizes were generous and everything was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant again in the future!
I went to the restaurant with my Valentine on Tuesday. I ordered the curry, spring rolls, and a beer. I would rate the atmosphere, service, and food a perfect 10/10.
This was our second meal at Damda. The first was average at best. The second - and last - was terrible. We made a reservation for 8:30 pm and were seated at a small, cramped table right in the flow of traffic. Three different appetizers we ordered were no longer available because of the 'busy night we've had' so we finally ended up ordering their soup. It took 50 minutes for the soup to arrive. In the meantime, staff were more concerned with taking care of the restaurant's staff and management who were partying up a storm at a nearby table. When our meals finally arrived mine was awful and not what I ordered. Instead of the 'light jasmine rice' I had a clump of lukewarm vermicelli. I needed a steak knife to cut through my overcooked salmon. The entire dish sat in a bath of oil. We left very frustrated with the entire experience - poor seating, the staff party, the slow service and the quality of the food. Never again.
My wife and I went here with friends and were very impressed with the restaurant. really nice décor and Steve our waiter was fantastic. He really made the visit that much more enjoyable. my wife has the massaman curry which she really enjoyed. I only had an appetizer which was the Chicken Satay. It was really good and I really liked both dips that came with them. My wife had a dessert which was a banana in coconut milk that she absolutely loved.
