Wow, the pool table area is beautifully clean! The bartender was a lovely lady—she was friendly and engaging with the customers, truly a credit to the pub. The customer service here is top-notch. As for the food, oh my goodness! It was absolutely delicious—well presented, full of flavor, fresh, and reasonably priced. Hats off to the chef and the young cook! What User doesn't like about Macleay River:
We picked up two meals this evening, and it was only a five-minute drive home. When we opened the plastic bag, we found our meals served on bare cardboard and completely cold. The food was delicious, but it was stone cold. We were really disappointed! If they could improve their containers and ensure the food is served hot, we would definitely come back. The value for money here is the best you'll find in the area and the food is very yummy

Havent been there for awhile as my meals always were aweful. After hearing of new chef and menu thought Id try again as staff are great. So **** glad I did...my meal was fantastic! Highly recommend the Surf &Turf..meat cooked to my liking. I will definitely be a regular again
What a great pub, very lively, meals are fantastic and cheap. $14 for rump steak and veg that I couldn't finish. Stayed overnight in a caravan behind the pub. Free if self contained.

As it stands, it just wasn't good enough! It felt like our meals had been sitting around for a long time before we picked them up. Other places manage to provide hot takeout. They definitely need to enhance their service.
