We absolutely love this fish restaurant! It's cozy, and the staff is really friendly, which adds to the overall dining experience. The prices range from about 15 to 27 ash, but you get a generous amount of food, especially since it's a seafood place. Whenever my friend comes to visit, I always take her there. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Happy Clam:
The crab dip is a must have, served burn the roof of your mouth hot with warm bread, very delicious. I haven 't tasted any other dip this good, you have to eat it hot once cooled it 's a firm NO. The desserts were yummy, the German Chocolate is my favorite followed by the Key Lime Pie. Excellent service with efficient and menu knowledgeable server. Had Restaurant Week special of a quite large broiled Captain's plate with 2 large pieces of catfish, 3 large shrimp, 6 oysters, 5 scallops, a crab cake with kale as side and a delicious spring mix salad. Because of eating plan I am on had to forgo their previously delicious hush puppies I've eaten there before but wife was more than glad to get my share.
We've been here twice, and both times the food was amazing. The crab dip is great, especially if you save some for your hush puppies (which are amazing on their own as well). The scallops were the best we've had in this area. If you like cheesecake, you must try their homemade cheesecakes. The best cheesecake I've ever had. They offer different types, and the raspberry cheesecake has been my favorite so far. Our kids love the homemade strawberry rhubarb pie. You won't be disappointed.
Great food and service. We discovered the Happy Clam during our last visit with family to Fredericksburg. It 's not much to look at but definitely has 'character '. The seafood is some of the best we 've had. The crabcakes and boiled shrimp were cooked perfectly. The sides are homemade and we gobbled them up. The desserts not only taste great but they are divine to look at especially when they are parading them out of the kitchen right past your table! The only disappointment was the crab dip as it had very little crab taste and a lot of cream cheese taste. It is a bit pricey but the seafood is fresh. The service was very good as well. We 'll definitely be back.
Just when you think it can't get any better it does..see the Scallops Norfolk photo and the Crab Norfolk also. This place is amazing! It’s worth driving from DC for sure! Everything is fresh, service is great and best of all is that you can buy their fresh seafood and take it home! Seasoned shrimps to start is the best option, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! Already thinking about coming back!
