Big change in the quality of the experience. They?ve discontinued some of their former signature touches that made this chain exceptional. Garlic mashed potatoes are now made with instant dehydrated potatoes rather than fresh mashed. This was confirmed by my server tonight. Overall, we had a lovely experience, and I'm glad we decided on this spot for our date night. The prices were reasonable, making it a fantastic choice for a relaxed and stress-free evening. We truly enjoyed our time there.
There has been a significant decline in the quality of the experience at this restaurant. They have removed several of the signature elements that once set this chain apart. For instance, the garlic mashed potatoes are now made from instant, dehydrated potatoes instead of fresh ones, which my server confirmed during my visit. Additionally, they used to offer a complimentary dessert for birthdays and anniversaries, but I've learned that this practice has been discontinued as well.

I had to make several phone calls and ultimately placed another order through DoorDash to resolve the issue. However, Monica from Bonefish really stood out; she was incredibly patient and helpful during our conversation. She followed up to ensure everything was sorted out, proving herself to be a true CUSTOMER SERVICE QUEEN! Her dedication went above and beyond my expectations, and because of that, I will not only continue to order from Bonefish, but I will also highly recommend their Fredericksburg, VA/Central Park location to everyone I know. We have dined at Bonefish several times and have generally had positive experiences. However, last night was the first time we were let down by the quality. Three out of the four dishes arrived with mashed potatoes that were only warm at best. We also ordered a steak cooked Pittsburgh style, and although the waitress assured us they could accommodate this request, it was not executed properly. The steak was essentially cold and raw in the center. In retrospect, we should have brought this to the staff's attention at the time, but our previous visits to Bonefish have usually been satisfactory.
We have decided not to return to this chain restaurant. While the staff was outstanding and clearly dedicated, the food fell short of expectations. Even fast food from Burger King would have seemed like a better choice. The fish and chips arrived cold, and the fries were poorly prepared. The stuffed cod was overcooked, dry, and lacking flavor, with the stuffing appearing as an unappealing, melted mess. What went wrong?
