The Sage restaurant is first class. The service was unbelievable. There was a gin that they did not have in stock, and they were willing to go get it from one of their other restaurants to make sure I could have that perfect drink that I liked. They were very accommodating . View all feedback.
What Amanda Messier doesn't like about Sage And Lounge:
Overall we had a decent experience. The tuna and affogato were highlights for us. The service was a 4/5.Our biggest issue was the Texas Suf and Turf. The quail was phenomenal, but that was the only good thing. The arugula was DRENCHED in salt to the point where it affected the taste for the rest of the meal, which is pretty unfortunate for a bill of $200+ after tip. The steak was fine but the potatoes that came with... View all feedback.
We will definitely be back for the excellent food and wonderful customer service!
On our final night in Fredericksburg, we managed to get reservations here. We were so excited to try this place since it was recommended by a friend. However, our excitement quickly turned into disappointment when the hostess, Katy Howard, refused to serve us alcohol for allegedly being drunk . When we walked in, we were in high spirits, laughing about our day. The hostess was attending to another guest so we went to the bar across the hostess stand. When she was done, I walked over to her and checked in and even complimented her on her white puffy blouse. As soon as we were seated, we ordered appetizers and drinks. Our server informed us that they needed to consult the hostess before putting in our drink order which we thought was wierd. Katy returned and told us we needed to order food before they served us drinks, so we told her we already ordered appetizers. She then said “okay we can talk after you’ve had the appetizers… I heard the conversation y’all had in the lobby and I think yall have had too much to drink”. This conversation she’s referring to, revolved around my best friend 's divorce, hardly indicative of intoxication. I was floored and couldn’t believe how she mishandled the situation and ruined our dining experience so we asked for our check… even though we only had a couple bites of our appetizers. I obviously wasn’t drunk if I remember every single detail of that interaction. The food may have been promising, but the lack of hospitality overshadowed any potential enjoyment. If you want to order a cocktail and dine here, I would advise walking in with a straight face. Don’t even think about laughing or talking too loud… otherwise Katy will think you’re drunk.
The most elevated restaurant in Fredericksburg. Must stop. Local favorite. And the menu is so eclectic and varying that you can find plates you wouldn’t anywhere else in the world. The snnitzhel comes highly recommended and the carbonara never leave the menu. I went with the crispy prawns the duck and pork belly stack. Top tier. Vibe 11. The goat cheese macaroon. Yeah.
This is a high-end restaurant. The ambiance is fantastic, the food is delicious, and the staff is very attentive.
I would give it 0 stars if I could. After hearing all the hype about this place, we were able to get reservations that same evening. This much anticipated dinner with friends, ended up being ruined by the hostess, Katy Howard. Upon sitting we ordered appetizers and when requesting drinks, we were denied because Katy said she had heard our conversation upon entering the restaurant which involved a previous domestic violence incident. She then proceeded to suggest that it would be up to her to see how she feels after we eat if we would be able to order drinks. This may have been a miscommunication on her end for negatively interpreting a conversation but it wasn’t her business either way. We politely closed our tabs and apologized to the waitress as she was confused. In fact, she said we seemed fine. Most reviews claim the food is good but their service lacks. Go visit Richard at Cabernet Grill instead, exceptional food and service.
