Was introduced by my step father who brought me to this place. I walked in here and was immediately amazed at the easy going staff and the food was great. My step father likes this place as his highway working friends and Railway workers eat here alot. Plus the pies here are twice the size of the little pies of Denny's or Home Restaurant. Plus when you order Pie you get ice-cream too! Ice Cream with pie is a winner w... View all feedback.
What Magnus Baier doesn't like about Canyon Alpine Motel Cafe:
we visited a very hot day in august. other restaurants in the surrounding area were closed by 4 clock due to the heat. the participants were not welcome and we went without order. View all feedback.
My wife and I are driving from Alaska to Northern California and like to find smaller local eats. We've driven past before but never during meal time before. It looked nice and local so in we went. It was very quiet but we were greeted quickly by the owner. I had a bacon burger and my wife ordered a denver omelet. The burger was cooked perfectly and the bun (not the standard store type) was grilled. The bacon was thick and crispy, yummm! Homemade fries filled out th.e plate. My wife's omelet was very good with excellent home style potatoes. Then we shared a bummble berry pie and ice cream. The pie was homemade and I would have eaten the whole pie (not just the slice)! A great local, hometown cafe. And if you happen to be there between April and June you may see hundreds of hummingbirds just outside your table window.
Wow what great food, large portions all home made dishes and desserts. Went here two days in a row. Dinner and breakfast. Save room for pies and rice krispie treets or a must to take to go
Great travel break. Travelling to 100 mile stopped there for lunch/breakfast. I had breakfast the rest had lunch. Excellent breakfast homemade pan fries with onions and peppers American size portions. One had a sandwich perfect for one. Couple of burgers they are real patties not Costco. Great Fries. However if you want a coffee refill or a sauce get it yourself. The owner/waiter doesn't mind. If there is no coffee make it. Don't expect great service I have been here four or five times a year for the few years. However the food and rustic atmosphere is great and I don't mind getting up and walking around and getting what I want.
Ended up enjoying a lovely late dinner, very accomadating and friendly. Enjoyed delicious potato skins and deviled egg sandwiches. Lovely owner who made us feel so welcomed! Will visit again for pie !
