This place is super casual and I didn’t expect much. Maybe that’s why I’m giving a good review. The Cheeseburger and Onion rings were surprisingly very good! View all feedback.
What Kelly Lewis doesn't like about The Lake Grill:
Nasty!! we ordered sweet tea and then get told we don’t make tea! Order nachos for $12 my child year old eats more than that they didn’t come with what they were supposed to call and they were cold tasted like liquid smoke absolutely disgusting ! View all feedback.
The photos we saw when booking the site through the app were incorrect as they did not show a lakeside or waterfront location. The staff at the facility admitted that the photos were generic. They did accommodate us to a waterfront site, but it was located next to septic tanks that needed to be watered down every morning. There were fire ants everywhere, and my toddler got bitten all over his legs, resulting in us having to strip him down outside to remove the ants. The staff did act quickly to disperse ant poison, but it took until the day we were leaving for them to be completely gone. Despite the unpleasant smell every morning and a lack of insect pest control, the biggest issue was the lack of enforcement of the rule against illegal drugs and activities. The people in the site next to us constantly smoked weed without any repercussions. It was not a suitable environment for my 3-year-old. Overall, with some improvements in the maintenance and upkeep of the sites, the area has potential to be better.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had a convenient boat ramp on site. The cabins were spotless. I will definitely be returning in the future.

This is a grill in connection with a fishing camp style resort place, it has good food, great service but it's a little bit country, a little more relaxed than some people enjoy but food great, service great, so a must do if you are there. We went for multiple times across our stay and everything that we had was good.Kid-friendliness: I always have a problem saying that a place is kid-friendly when it's connected to a bar, but I think because this is a resort it's also connected to a tackle/fishing shop the office for the campground that it would be okay to bring your kids in here for a meal. I don't think they necessarily have high chairs but their food options would work if you were little one was picky.
See the review about Lake Palestine Resort...Parking: Small and crowded. Somewhat difficult to get to for the first visit, which will be our last.
