Dixie Cafe - Franklin

Wow, lots of tornado damage in this town but the cafe is open for lunch. Not to be confused with Johnny Rebs Dixie Cafe in Hearne: yelp.com/biz/johnny-rebs… This is the latest incarnation of an ever changing restaurant on main street here in Franklin. Mighty fine Texan food as always. Burger is great, Chicken fried Chicken is awesome. Perfection actually. Friendly staff.

Very clean restaurant. Great service! Sometimes you have to wait a little longer if their busy due to baseball teams/ basketball teams! Most of the time your food comes out very quickly! They DO serve coffee the menu says they don't serve breakfast. So if your looking for a good homemade chicken fried steak or chicken this is your place!

Stopped here with customers for a business lunch. My measuring stick for a restaurant is to see how good the hamburger steak is. At Dixie Cafe, the hamburger steak is excellent! Staff were very friendly. I don't really have much else to say about Dixie Cafe other than to say that I would eat here again if traveling back to Franklin.

The only thing worse than the Dixie in Hearne is the one in Franklin, and the only thing that is worse than the food here is the management. I overheard a supervisor saying something to her staff that I cannot even begin to type here, even in an abbreviated version. She was speaking about a minor. It was sexual in nature. I called to try to make someone aware of this issue and the manager was always out and no one would return my calls. I tried 6 times in the course of a week with no response. On top of that, the food comes out under or over cooked. And late. And usually cold.... Or soggy.... Or just plain not what you ordered. It all comes straight from a can or freezer. I have had better stuff from Schwan 's. I 've even heard of several people getting sick from undercooked chicken here. It is disgusting. Don 't waste your money.

Stoped in for a late lunch, the parking lot was full so I knew it was going to be good! I ordered a cheeseburger and fries and it didn't disappoint. Was full of flavor and was big enough to take half home! T ordered the kids cat fish and I had to bribe him for a bite with desert to get a bit so you know it was so so good. The catfish was cooked perfectly , crispy on the outside and nice and moist on the inside perfectly pink healthy catfish delicious. My friends ordered the meatloaf it was pretty good not as good as my mamas but ride up there. Also the corn bread with the fresh whipped butter was definitely a nice touch. Now the chicken fried chicken steak that my friend ordered was out of this world delicious. And the gravy oh my goodness definitely going to have to get that next time. Got the banana pudding, and the root beer float which they were out of ice cream unfortunately I had to walk next-door to get a little bit of vanilla to put in some of the root beer which they didn't charge me for and I was thankful. The banana putting was very tasty we licked the bowl literally... Fun place great ambience and they also have a special room in case you need a quiet place or have an event.
