We always enjoy our visits to the Boiler Room Steakhouse! Large selection of foods and very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you receive. Also a great place to eat in front of a show at the theater next door, make sure to make a reservation if you have tickets for a show as there may be a long wait otherwise. Planning ahead is a wise step for such a popular dining place! Even eating in the train car is... View all feedback.
What Eddie Schumm doesn't like about Boiler Room Steakhouse:
I read good reviews about this place but ended up very disappointed. The Tea Salad was very sour and my wife ordered fish sauce to make the taste better. I had the Chicken Dau Bauk and the leg was small and very dry. I felt I ate more rice than the chicken, very over priced. This place does not come close to Burma Superstar in SF. View all feedback.
We have dined at the Boiler Room multiple times before attending an event. On our most recent visit, we arrived a bit late and were initially disappointed to find the buffet almost empty. However, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that we could order off the menu, even though we had never been offered this option before. Despite the limited menu, the dishes we ordered were all delicious. This time, two members of our group opted for menu items while two chose the buffet. The restaurant was not busy at all (as it was a small event) and there were plenty of excellent choices on the buffet. The menu offerings were also top-notch. We also discovered that the restaurant accepts reservations for event days, but only on the day of the event. This information will be useful for our next visit, especially if the event is sold out or nearly sold out. I would recommend making reservations and arriving early if you are interested in the buffet, as they tend to run out of food close to the event's start time. However, rest assured that everything is freshly prepared.
We had dinner at the Boiler Room before going to a concert next door. Since the concert was sold out, we made a reservation ahead of time, which turned out to be a wise choice. When we arrived 1 1/2 hours before the concert, there were about 30 people waiting without reservations. We chose the buffet option, which was good overall. However, some of the food items were not replenished promptly. There was only one slice of pizza available when we went through the line, and no one was there to inform about the absence of Thousand Island salad dressing. (There were no servers around to communicate with).
This was my first time trying a buffet meal before attending a concert at the Smoky Mountain Performing Arts Center. I arrived early to beat the crowds, but it seems like everyone else had the same idea. The restaurant was very crowded. The food was not impressive at all, especially the fried chicken which was the worst I've ever had. It wasn't fried and only consisted of dark meat. I am unsure if I will dine here again.
Food was not as good as when we were there before but still a good meal. Choices were not as good.
Very good food. A lot of choices on the buffet. This is an ideal place to eat when you will be going to the Smokey Mountain Performing Arts Center. So convenient to park in one place and then walk over to the show. The food was excellent and the service was friendly. Lots and Lots of smiles. We loved the train decor. Everything was clean and fresh. We look forward to eating there again for the next show.
