We found the address of maxie iron by applause in the internet and since it was close to our hotel, we thought that this American style could be the right place for a quick lunch. not sure if we had chosen it through a walk... it doesn't look very much on the outside. the place is quite small and was almost full when we arrived, but a table was free, so we could give him a chance. we decided to have the lunch special of 12 euro, including a pastrami sandwich, pommes, a cole Slav and a homemade limonade. the eating was fresh, the limonade very nice, the fries and sauce were very good, but my 2 companions, both pastrami sandwich lovers, were disappointed, as the pastrami was served in a soft white roll instead of roggenbrot. espresso was good. So, maybe not the best pastrami ever, but definitiw good enough to come back when in this area.
The neighborhood is funky but safe. The food was good and the service was really good. Really good reuben sandwich.
Pastrami at Maxie Eisen is as a short trip to the BIg Apple. The service fits nicely into the whole concept.
During my recent trip to Frankfurt I had dinner at Maxie Eisen. The Pastrami sandwiches are really fantastic! They're thick with sliced pastrami and come with a pickle and Coleslaw, extremely good! Highly recommended! I would definitely go for the large Pastrami on Rye.
