yesterday evening again a great local discovered. down town in bonames. old, rustic, cuddly. great beer garden, appealing shop. the kitchen is German. had a filet - was exactly fried. beautiful rose and delicate. the salat was discreetly seasoned and matched. the bratkartoffeln fried lush and cross. like at home. What Heinz-Jürgen Henkel doesn't like about Zum Einhorn:
to come to the owner not really...something loud in the beer garden through the street, but quite cozy.Only the impossible operation by the chefin gloomed the evening. On green sauce with eggs we had to wait half an hour, although only few guests were there. On demand we got this then served with the comment: after five hours work break the kitchen would have to be impossible! Great local restaurant, super tasty eating, decent prices and super friendly service. English speaking. just remember that the payment by cash or transfer. would go back if in the opposite.
We visited this restaurant on a Friday night and as we got the note on order steaks, we followed a had steak and carving (jäger and wiener.) to make it short: it was simply exquisite! I ordered my tender medium and the meat was so...fantastic it almost melted in my mouth. the same for the carvings of my friends. next time we will preorder the bullensteak, which was recommended to us, but must be pre-ordered. if they are in frankfurt and want to enjoy good meat, go there!
Unicorn is probably one of the most beautiful places to enjoy typical German foods best. close to the old boname, they really need to look for the entrance. parking space near is difficult. (I try to be targeted in the hops that few people take care of checking it. they make their own apple wine excellent! my favorite appetizers is the ugly brot, sardelle brot. If they like sardelle, it is fantastic and worth a trip for the alone! everything is good, but dedicating (full! another personal favorite is the special black chop. the seats in the garden are pleasant in summer time. make a reservation. (first comes, first served for the garden. they will do their best to them in, inside, when the weather tends. very good. for those who are looking for Germany as it was 50 years ago, but with anchovies!
This is a small family run restaurant in Bonames to the north of Frankfurt. The atmosphere and decor are very German, as are the staff, who were very welcoming. The 30 or so places outdoors are taken quickly each evening in summer, so arrival at,...or close to 6pm is necessary. The restaurant is well supported by the locals. The menu is very German with local specialties to the fore and a good range of schnitzels. The food served was of good quality but, unfortunately, was fairly bland. Although all the portions were large, they lacked flavour. The bill for 4 beers, 4 mains and 4 coffees was €78.40. The value and service were good, it was just the flavour that, for us, was missing.
We were a group of about 15 adults, everybody ordered a variety of entree 's, everything looked and tasted great, no complaints here. They make their own Appelwoi and the fresh 'Suesser ist awesome
