Visited this place week before Christmas whilst visiting Christmas markets. Typical German food, hearty tasty. Although I can read little German we took English menu version. I chose Pork Knuckle which was served with lovely creamy mash sauerkraut. Would have like a starter...but couldn’t see anything that look starter shaped other than soup? Strudel for desert was lovely as was the Reisling wine. Place was packed at... View all feedback.
What Björn Zeller doesn't like about Weinstube im Roemer:
25 euros la viande qui ne fait pas 300gr comme ils l'annoncent. Beigne dans la crème. Serveur jeune homme aimable. Serveuse femme détestable.Si vous y allez c'est juste pour prendre une bière en profitant de la place mais ne faites pas l'erreur de manger ici! Ps très peu de choix de plat...
Although it is in a very visited tourist location, the food is surprisingly good and the service is fast and fair. However, do not expect surpluses and that you will feel like a desirable guest.
Here in the middle of the very busy and tourist roemer for early dinner. Huge portion of pork carving, salad and pumice. The pork also knochle from the bone with mascara and sauerkraut. With a bottle of local wine very reasonable...and pleasantly served by the charming waitress
Great location on Roemer square next to the town hall. The menu had classic German and Frankfurt specialties with very reasonable prices. Also some items on a children's menu. The quality of the food was average and the service was good. Outdoor seating can be observed...relax during activity on the square.

My husband and I sat outside for drinks recently. The patio area is nice and the views of the city square are great. They provided heaters and blankets, which was also nice, but the pros end there.I asked my server about the wines they offered-- starting the conversation by saying I wanted a not dry white. Instead of explaining the wines he just said he'd bring me one and left. The wine he brought me was terrible. He also wouldn't let us pay with a credit card, saying there was a credit card minimum. Would have been good to know at the beginning of the meal. Fortunately, the table next to us pitched in to help pay for the meal. He also informed us that tip wasn't included. Which really isn't true. And after he was unhelpful and rude (made unkind jokes when I asked where the bathroom was), we were over it. This place caters to tourists, and he knew we were from out of town and wouldn't be a regular so he felt no need to treat us well. He left a bad taste in our mouths.
