I like their menus that trade at about 20 euros a lot. The Udon soup that comes with is great, and the quality of sushis as well. Indeed the sushis are a bit large, but it does not matter too much to me. Started liking that place and coming more after getting so disappointed with the many sushi bars of Frankfurt that charge just a little less but where the fish can taste horrible... and soups are nothing Japanese. What -foodie watch doesn't like about Sushi Am Main (reuterweg):
The food is so so so terribly bad, even worse than their dated decor. One basic rule of sushi is that it has to be bite-sized, not three-bite sized or stuff-your-whole-mouth-to-the-limit sized. The fish used for sushi was not fresh, which is just dangerous. None of the food served here is worth risking one's health even for a reasonable price. View all feedback.
For the lunch menu sushi on main offers a nice selection. especially great is that you get an salad with an incredibly tasty sauce at the menu, in some cases a mini spring roll beforehand, then a suppe (select whether miso or Udon soup, both totally tasty), then the chosen eat and a small drink. prices are around the 13 euro for all this. absolutely delicious and recommended. Of course, you should bring some time if you don't want to be able to work.
There was a class sashimi among other things with very good thunfish, and even butterfish. Our little one got for his sticks a help-up with which he could eat with sticks.Nette service and the chef came to the table to welcome us.
The restaurant is centrally located and cozy - although not typical Japanese - furnished. we were super advised and quickly served. The sushi was excellent, especially the tuna. there was even toro, the richer tuna variant. The dessert served as a bonus, from sticky with cream filling was once something new and very tasty.
Would there be a double service: good before location and bad to take? sushi to take is hot, fragrant and badly presented. the menu is small, but the quality is not there if they like sushi and maki. no fresh garnel on the menu (surimi) but oktopus!? the offered salmon is cooked and the algae too hard. the ingredients seem to be of poor quality or have been improperly processed to appear. avoid!
I like the place never being too full so that you can have the opportunity to have a nice, quiet conversation. the facility is naturally very outdated, but with the food I had never had problems there and the staff is very friendly.
