You might feel that you got lost when you try to find the place. It's in a residential area in a quiet corner. Just as you think, this can't be right, go a little further and you are there. It's a small restaurant. There is cozy outside seating available. We were told that the menus varies. It's a small menu. The waitress said that they always offer one vegetarian dish and typically can make something vegan, too. We... View all feedback.

Eat them exceptionally good and very attentive, relaxed service, around the perfect evening
I was looking for a place to celebrate a special evening and as I know quite a few restaurants in Frankfurt, was looking for something where I would normally not go. Checking out Tripadvisor comments and slowly getting the fine tuning right, I stumbled upon Landwehrstübchen. The reviews are OK, and the photo on the tripadvisor page DOES NOT DO THE RESTAURANT ANY JUSTICE!!!! (I hope they will change these soon unless it is a strategy.... Who knows). Check out their own website – It’s hip, trendy and cool. We entered and I was anticipating a husband and wife duo running the place (him cooking and on the bottle and her with a Doris Day hair style and a cigarette in mouth). Instead we were welcomed by a young, hip, trendy and cool host. The interior actually does look like these hipsters kicked out the previous owners last week, but there are details which confirm a certain coolness in design. On each table there was a brown paper bag. On it; the name of the guest and in it; fresh bread to accompany the fresh herb spread. Big soft pillows on the bench and a cricket bat standing on the fire place, crockery from the seventies, the menu in wood and leather and steak cutlery in a leather pouch. Nice touches! We had a beer and a wine to quench our thirst – I think there is some connection between this place and Naiv at the Fischerplätzchen (the craft beer lovers). We took the recommended entrées. Beef Carpaccio with ginger and pepper buds, flambéed at the table with ginger oil. A very good light starter. Although it was flambéed, it could have been served 1 or 2 degrees warmer. And, Seared Tuna in a herb petal coat with avocado, wasabi and seaweed sheet – this entrée was brilliant. A great combination of flavours As mains we took the Simmentaler rumpsteak with maroon coating, potato/kohlrabi gratin and truffle jus and the Veal Schnitzel with potato salad and green sauce. The rumpsteak came as recommended: medium. Normally I like my beef well done, as medium is too **** for me. The piece served was actually rare; however it was perfect and proves the chef knows what he is doing. Although it was rare, the meat was pleasantly dry to touch (no juices), extremely tender and outright delicious. The accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked too. It also came with romanesco which must have been finished in broth, as it had a pleasant full flavour to it. The gratin was a joy. The Schnitzel is recommendable too. The green sauce is very traditional Frankfurt fair and faultless. The potato salad however needs a little boost in flavour – but apart from that, it was all great. Thanks for a great evening – looking forward to your future events. We will be back – highly recommendable How to get there: From Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, take the tram number 17 in the direction of Neu Isenburg and get out at Frankfurt Louisa. You can also take the S Bahn Number 3 and 4. Admittedly, in all the years I have lived in Frankfurt, there was never a reason to go to Louisa, as I am not a member of a family of 4 with a dog and 2 cars. It's a typical German residential area with modern low rise terrace houses. A 3 minute walk from the station to the restaurant and you are there. Really easy to get to!!
The small but very cosy restaurant offers a limited but tasty ala carte menu. The wine list is longer with a nice selection of great wine. We were all very satisfied with our choices and will definitely go there again.
