Found myself free following a day at IMEX and fancied a treat. Having spent the day mixing and mingling I was very content to spend a few hours as a solo diner. Stumbled upon this jewel. Would've loved to sit outside but a lovely evening...so all tables occupied. Not quite sure what to order but waiter recommended the while asparagus with Parma ham delicious. Next was Wiener Schnitzel beautiful. Finished off with hom... View all feedback.
What Isa Hildebrandt doesn't like about Die Leiter:
This restuarant of off the main shopping area. The prices were high than other places, but we thought we get something that little higher quality. The food was good, but not in comparison to the prices. There were about 10 main dishes to choose from...starting at 24 euros, The staff were not that good in my opinion, not very friendly, almost like they had a superior complex and it was beneath them to serve us. The wi... View all feedback.
This was a short distance from our hotel (hilton city centre) in a quarter under many outdoor cafés and bars. We sat outside, but inside had the same elegant atmosphere. we had gazpacho and parsnip suppe, followed by carving and steak with pfeffercorn cognac...sauce all fantastic. a bit expensive, but worth it. highly recommended.
Still a favorite of me when I visit frankfurt. food remains very good, regardless of what they order all dishes are prepared with great care and are delicious and well presented. the service of Fernando and its team remains on the...game, personalized service with excellent recommendations. the position naturally helps to make a meal with the ladder even more pleasant.
Excellent food and service. casually elegant but relaxed atmosphere. the employees are real profis that you eat and know wein.
That is an old, elegant German restaurant. a great choice, if this is what they are looking for and for all visitors in frankfurt who stay close to the opera, this is a great place. the wine carving was exceptionally good. the choice of glasses of the weine was perfect and even the expresso was good. all this in a very elegant environment with very nice staff. I will definitely return next trip to frankfurt.
My wife and I came upon Die Leiter while browsing through the area to find a suitable restaurant to have dinner. Since the outside seating area was almost full, we decided to take a chance and eat here and was able to obtain a table...outside. Once we were seated and were given menus and wine lists, we discovered the variety of dishes was quite limited and the prices were very expensive. The wine list was also very expensive with the lowest price of a bottle of red wine going at 49.00 Euros. So my wife and I ordered the wiener schnitzel accompanied by a glass of wine. The wiener schnitzel was 21.50 Euros while the glass of red wine was 11.50 Euros. The wiener schnitzel was well prepared with a side dish of a gallup of potatoes for 21.50 was well overpriced as well as the wine. In hindsight, we should have researched this restaurant more thoroughly before getting a table. But what gave us a bad taste in our mouth was not so much the food but the less than friendly waiters that served us. They definitely were not friendly and my wife and I felt that being there was annoying to them; or perhaps as it seemed they were a bit more cordial to the locals.
