there were two vegan main dishes on the menu (baked sweet potatoes with dips and linsenbolognese). as starters you can choose a carrot tomato soup. they also offered a vegan chocolate cake as dessert. the portions were a little small, but still quite good. View all feedback.
This place is a bit remote and it is not worth visiting for its kitchen alone because it is quite expensive and the vegan dishes are disappointingly lacking. we had the pasta with the lentil wagout and the baked sweet potatoes with three vegan dips, both with an salat on the side, the only two vegan main dishes on the menu; they also had a vegan suppe for appetizers and regular pommes or sweet kartoffel frries as side, but we do not have them. the sweet potato is not really original, but the dives are actually quite delicious. we have a tomato-gang pepper dip, a fig dip and a vegan aioli. it does not look like much, but it is delicious and very full. the lenses ragout on the other side is missing a lot of finese: it needs definitiw salt and pfeffer and we have mixed some of the aioli with it to add some taste. it's not bad, but for what it's definitiw overpriced. hopefully, the cook will accept some of our criticism and work on the recipe. the saving gnade of this restaurant is however its location. it is great to know that they can go on a walk or on a bike tour in this part of the Odenwald Mountains, perhaps especially for the ruins of castle rodenstein (not so much left to be honest) and have the opportunity to sit down and actually get something vegan other than a bowl. so we ended there and we were sure happy to regenerate with a vegan meal in this picturesque environment in the midst of forests and meadows. The lentil ragout on the other hand very much lacks finesse: it definitely needed salt and pepper and we've mixed some of the aioli with it to add some flavor. It's great to know that you can go on a hike or on a bike trip in this part of the Odenwald mountain range, maybe specifically go for the ruins of Castle Rodenstein (not that much left of it, to be honest) and have the option to sit down and actually get something vegan other than a bowl of fries. That's how we ended up there and we sure were happy to regenerate with a vegan meal in these picturesque surroundings amidst woods and meadows.
