Daves Hot Chicken - Fountain Valley

The chicken breast was of excellent quality and remained moist, which I appreciated. However, while the breading was nicely spiced, it didn't pack the punch I was anticipating. In comparison, Church's spicy fried chicken offers a better-seasoned breading that's tastier, spicier, and more flavorful, so I was hoping for a similar experience. I can usually handle a fair amount of heat, and I ordered the extra hot while my son chose the Reaper. The extra hot had some spice to it, but it fell short of the fiery kick I expected. Surprisingly, my son handled the Reaper without any trouble, suggesting it wasn't overly spicy. Nonetheless, we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals at Dave’s and agreed that it's the best chicken sandwich and chicken strips we've had to date—far surpassing Cane's.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was vibrant. I ordered a chicken slider without spice, and it was both generous in portion and exceptionally juicy. The bun was soft, and the blend of Dave's sauce and pickles was delicious and full of flavor. Come on, Dave's, you need to do better! On a positive note, the food itself was fantastic. The sandwich was excellent, the fries were crispy, and the flavors were bold and spot on. It was genuinely delicious and definitely the highlight of our lunch. I really hope they work on improving the atmosphere at this location, since the others are always so lively!

Dave's Hot Chicken is truly amazing! I've tried the Extra Hot spice level, and honestly, no matter which spice level you pick, I can assure you it will be delicious, leaving you satisfied every time. Everything on the menu is fantastic—from the fries and mac and cheese to the pickles and their incredible sauce. It never fails to brighten my day! It is a bit on the expensive side, but absolutely worth it, and it's quite filling, so be sure to go in with an empty stomach, haha!
