Waffle House - Fort Walton Beach

We stopped here because it was demolished on Sanyo Rosa. We tried to call first after a To-Go order, but nobody answered. We decided to simply order personally. The man who tried to take our order was so high that he could not keep both eyes open, much less complete a sentence. Of course we decided to eat somewhere else.

The kitchen area was filthy, garbage was overflowing and all over the floor. There were 4 waitresses on duty and 3 of them were out smoking for 3/4 of the time we were even there. Leaving 1 waitress to do everything, washing dishes, ringing out customers, helping the cook and even having to get things for the other waitresses tables. The cook and the 1 waitress were the only ones really doing anything, shame on the other waitresses for not doing their jobs and leaving just 1 to try and handle everything. Thank you Brianna for being helpful and getting us drinks since our original waitress decided to give us our check with our food and not bother to return because she was to busy spending 20 minutes outside.

We ate here two days in a row and the food was awesome both days. I can?t remember the first server, but the second server Mei was very sweet. She?s very attentive and repeats what we asked for just to make sure she got it right. We left her a $20 tip cause she was very kind to us. Her service brought up my scoring quite a bit! I took off one star because the cleanliness of the restaurant was poor in terms of safety; the floors were covered in grease because it was being tracked out by the waitresses and I almost slipped multiple times. I know it?s not the waitresses fault, but some cleanliness management would be beneficial as there were no ?wet floor? signs out. My grandfather who was with us could have fallen and seriously gotten hurt with how slippery it was.

This Waffle House location was hopping at 9am on a Thursday! We managed to get seats at the counter fairly quickly, but a wait formed right after we sat down. The service was fast and friendly, the food was excellent and served to our exacting specifications, and the prices were extremely reasonable. Two people, two hash brown bowls plus coffee, in and out in 20 minutes, for less than $20. The only detractor was cleanliness, which I'm owing to how busy it was for the 3-person staff.

All and all a great breakfast to start the day. The staff was friendly and the food was hot. There was plenty of parking and easy to access. Conveniently located close to the bridge for easy access and walking distance to the shopping plaza that houses the Publix.
