Stewart's Shops - Fort Plain

I love my Stewart 's and the people who work there. They always make sure there is plenty of coffee ready, are very helpful if their help is needed, super friendly, and hard workers.

I rolled into town later in the evening one day while riding my bike from Buffalo to Albany. Staying the night at the lock. Was looking for a place to get food. Very pleased when I saw this store. Said to myself while riding up, Please have beer! . They did and have a section where the ladies will make you huge and awesome sub sandwiches. I got to the campsite and thought it would nice to get some firewood. Called back over and asked if they had any. She said they normally do, but had sold out. Then told her over the phone how much I enjoyed my sandwich. Stopped back in the morning for another sandwich before getting on the road. If you 're riding your bicycle on the Erie Canal Trail or NY Bike Rt 5 and are staying at the lock these guys have you covered and I fully recommend a stop. Only a couple blocks from the campsite or right off the trail. Just want to tell them to always have firewood. I know it 's tough to control what outside venders can deliver to them. So I don 't hold it against them and didn 't take any Stars off.

Whenever we visit family that is in the area, my children and I make sure we visit Stewart's first thing. We especially miss the breakfast sandwiches (hard roll) among the other delicious choices. On our last recent visit, our choice of sandwich wasn't in the display case. We asked if they could make it for us, despite being busy. Both times, Donna was very nice and eager to do so. It was very appreciated to see someone go above and beyond and to be so kind.

I tried to call to order a pizza for over 10 minutes calling and calling and no one answers the phone. I don’t live far from the store and can see the lot out my window and it’s not even busy in the parking lot.. other times I’ve went into the store for milk and there would be 3 workers on duty and there would be no gallons of milk on the shelf but crates of it inside the cooler. Very sad store

It's a nice and fine Stewart's
