Eating was good, although small proportions the BBQ plate was good and chicken fingers were not too bad. They ran around 12 out of vegetables and didn't have much to choose. Was not a fan of paperboard, but at least not many dishes to wash. They get their name rural kitchen for a reason and that's exactly what it is! View all feedback.
The food was served hot, and the service was decent, although there was only one young lady attending to all the tables. It felt quite warm inside, and the decor was a bit of a mix, but aside from that, the food and overall experience were enjoyable!
My husband and I decided to stop in during a morning drive, hoping to try something new. Visiting this restaurant felt like stepping back in time, about 40 years. The decor was an old-fashioned relic from the late '70s to early '80s, and it wasn’t particularly charming. We ordered breakfast: he had cookies, gravy, and eggs, while I chose delicate biscuits with egg and cheese, along with grits. Once our food arrived, we were both so captivated that we didn’t want to pause. We agreed that it was even better than homemade!
The food was good overall, although the portions were a bit small. The BBQ plate was enjoyable, and the chicken fingers were decent as well. They were a bit low on vegetable options, with only about 12 types available to choose from. I wasn’t a fan of the paperboard serving ware, but at least there weren't too many dishes to wash afterwards. They truly live up to their name, Rural Kitchen, as it embodies that vibe perfectly!
If you're looking for a mother and pop restaurant, that's it. Great cookies like my grandmother. And the service was wonderful.
