I do hate they did away with the iconic Ronald, but that’s life. This McD’s on US17 south, after you leave Bartow, next pit stop is Fort Meade, just a few miles. It’s on the left near the center of “town”…once you enter the city limits, need to start watching, the town only has one stoplight and if you go through it, you missed McD’s. It’s on the left, fairly new looking remodeled building – they have improved the parking some from years ago – once the line of cars would be out in the street – since the remodeling it seems to be kept a bit out of the main flow of traffic. It’s about the “only place to go” since the Hardee’s further on closed up some years ago. (I think they need some competition to come in the old Hardee’s building . Fortunately, just passing through and an occasional stop there (if not packed is good for the “soul” – and I always like McD’s large regular coffee (when they have $1 for any size, why would anyone pick “small”!
