The Smokin Butcher - Fort McMurray

I love the rustic aesthetics, it gave country/farmhouse vibes. It was a bit loud inside so not a setting for intimate dinner but definitely a good atmosphere to chill and hangout on a Friday night with the live music. The food was all that but the service was very hospitable.

Always come here for short change. service is always great and food is really good. love the rib bones especially. but this time around they weren't as good. recommend this place if you haven't already gone. my kids also love it here .

Brisket was hard, huh was dry, afteros, and wings were excellent. very expensive. 3 meal times and 2 happy $175. keg prices with not big food. we will not be back.

This is the second try here. 1st time Service was brutal- not trained food runners don’t know table numbers, our appys got 1/2 of them delivered to nearby table, we then waited for new ones to come out. We watched a lot of food going to wrong guests all night. waitress doesn’t watch for proper food delivery or come back, one person in our group did not get her main at all- so we ate without her so ours didn’t get cold- one dish was cold already, but we didn’t send back but did let waitress know. No refills on drink order, the missed main finally came…cold. They comped dessert but after 40min waiting we asked for the bill. Second time, waitress came to get order literally 2 minutes after seating us, we asked for a few moments, then noticed no wine list inside menu (last visit there was) waited on that, Picked a wine, they were out, picked second they were out (all running and physically checking stock each time) the wine choices are good bc wines and good price but staff is not knowledgeable at all. The wine choices was the reason we went a second time but we won’t be back until they have raving service reviews. Our second time there watching the painful food delivery and ours being rushed at the start then pretty much ignored the rest of the visit. The wait staff is all young, not friendly, seems one manager runs around putting out fires instead of coaching

There were 7 of us in the group Long wait for food considering there were few patrons (approx 45 50 minutes) Host was attentive but I found that she was pushing drinks too much Brisket was dry and lacked flavour
