I've lived in mcmurray for 17 years and always went to Hong Kong eatery up until a couple of years ago. They slowly went down hill and I stopped going there. My family is away and I wanted to get chinese because nobody in my home likes it and I wasn't sure were to order from. I decided to give Hong Kong eatery a chance and see if the food quality was better. To my surprise, it's probably the best I have had in years.... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Hong Kong Eatery:
Ordered wonton soup, came out with a few tiny wontons some pieces of fatty pork and over cooked veggies. Broth had no flavour. When I brought it back to the counter the lady would not replace it with another item or refund my money. View all feedback.

I believe they are under new management and seemed to clean the place up. It looks clean and the staff is friendly. Very happy with the food and they also gave me a few free spring rolls to try. Very satisfied!!! Keep up the good work and I will be back.

Its sad because this was my favorite place for chinese food in town. They either have a new cook or just needed to cut some corners on food to save money. Smaller portions than other places in town and not cheap. Cost us $80 for 3 people and no leftovers. Smalllll portions. Honey ribs used to have honey now they make a sugary jelly paste that tastes like sugar. Spring rolls and egg rolls are right from superstore but they add a nice fat saturated taste. The ginger beef is good but... just go somewhere else. Hope I can save someone the disappointment.Cleanliness: you would think they would have cleaned up a little after the fires. This says a lot of what their day to day cleaning entails. It wasnt horrible but just a regular grubby cookery, what do you expect, you cook, it makes a mess.
Ordered delivery "special for 4" and were very disappointed - Our chow mein was uncooked! It arrived with hard raw noodles under greasy vegetables. The sweet and sour pork was burnt to a crisp! It appeared they slathered sauce over it to disguise burning it. I'm not sure how you can screw up Chinese food so badly but this place did! They only decent part of the meal was the rice and that it came on time ....
Hong Kong Eatery really is the best in town. Which isn't saying that much. It's mediocre at best with some wild variation in quality item to item and day to day. It's still MUCH better than the other places in town.
