Gran Lux - Fort Lauderdale

Our server was very good, offering recommendations and patience as we decided. The food was good, as always. My problem this time was the dogs. 3 in the time we were there, 2 getting into a barking match and one barked regularly throughout the time it was there. That did not make our experience there pleasant. If the dogs were two men screaming at each other, the restaurant manager would have asked them both to leave.

Given the size of the place, it is amazingly well run and efficient. We were very well looked after by a lady called Taylor who was extremely efficient and helpful. The range of food made it difficult to choose but everyone was happy with their meal. Note to self: don't order a starter when eating in an American restaurant! It really is too much!

We were sad the Boca Raton location closed but we saw there was another location in the Fort Lauderdale area so made a reservation here the night before our cruise. We are glad we did. Even though we tried to order less food we had way to much. My husband ordered the empanadas that were a small plate so he ordered a side of fries. Both were large. I had the chicken parmigiana which is what I normally get. We had the house made apple pie for dessert. Everything tasted great. Unfortunately we could not take home the leftovers since we were leaving in the morning. Prices were reasonable and service was great.

So my 3 Angels surprised me this year and brought me to the grand Lux Café in SAWGRASS for Mother’s Day brunch 2022. And let me just tell you it was another wonderful time spent there! Our server was great they were extremely busy but the food was superb! We did have a mishap but management, double management, was on top of it and took care of it right away and couldn’t be more apologetic. There were four of us for brunch, and all but one of the meals came out together, my daughters meal took quite a bit longer to come out but we were visited by our server who questioned it and then a couple minutes later a manager came out apologizing and then a second manager came out apologizing and explaining they failed and they were taking care of the meal. Aside from that, it was a wonderful time. Food is superb!! Service is superb!! If anyone has the chance to visit this location please do!! We enjoyed: caramel banana pancakes, mini sliders and fries, Chicken and waffles and hashbrowns, a cuban with a side salad and berry vinaigrette dressing, and 3 smoothies: strawberry banana, tropical and a raspberry swirl, all was fantastic!!
