This place is home for me. If I’m in south FL for a week I’m eating here at least 3, if not 4 nights. Steve is my cooking idol and would go so far as to say his Italian cooking is better than my own grandmother’s was. Place has a character and cadence of its own. There is simply nowhere else like it. What TruthFL doesn't like about Cafe Martorano:
Inside gets loud after 10pm. But we expected that. We sat outside and it was perfect. We could hear the music but it was not overpowering. The perfect Saturday night. We will be back. View all feedback.
Place is a scene. Food is great. Wayyyyy too overpriced to make it a place in rotation. Servers tried to get us out because it was busy. Cool experience, but the price decreases.
Did a 9:00 reservation, not until 9:30? You demand that you make a reservation. Food was excellent for the money you spend here, service needs a lot of improvement.
Okay. The best Italian food since Sortolinos in Boston. Epic, consistent. Chief behind the line. Family owned. Amazing. Order the calfskin Parmesan. Great wine list. Great service. Make reservations or come early and air at the bar! Woe every penny.
We made reservations for the 4 of us over a month in advance for 8:15 a.m., had to leave a credit card $25 /person fees for cancellation) we were not until after 8:30 a.m. the food was delicious. Everything was good, though hastened, as we had to order when we sat and ordered appetizers. We had 3 bottles of wine, appetizers, entrees, dessert and cappuccinos and at 10:00 with still wine in our glasses, enjoy some of the music from the cook / DJ, who joined with the disco lighting to the end of our meal, we were rudely told by the waiter that we were hardly an hour before spending a bottle of $600 ja food was so good, atmosphere was so fun We mentioned this one of the host dinners on the way out, who said that they should have said that we would be welcome to stay in the bar, but this was after leaving that they needed the table so that it was too little too late. With so many restaurants this was a 1 and done for us.
If I could have given it 10 stars I would have . Hands down the best food I've ever had, and as a reviewer and food critic at heart, that's saying something. The staff were amazing ,they were dressed to the T's , we're very polite and professional. The interior was beautiful , and so is the outside area. The food was phenomenal. The pizza appetizer was by far the best pizza I've ever had, and I'm from the northeast where pizza is hard to beat. Meatballs were great too off the appetizer menu. But the entrees were flawless. Each one was better than the next . I can't wait to come back .
