What David Bauer doesn't like about Flint House:
Staff was nice, place was kinda neat but felt contrived. On the pricey side for mid food. The one burger on the menu was pretty bad. If the meat was hot and juicy it would have been average. But the patty was dense, cold, and overcooked. Poutine came out cold, too. It wouldn't have been great if it came out hot either. My buddy got the French Dip and that looked really good. So menu might be hit and miss. Friendly ba... View all feedback.
Such a great restaurant and such a nice find in a small town. We have visited 'The Flint House' on numerous occasions and always enjoyed it. Yesterday was no exception. It's charming and warm, great ambience and the service is always excellent. Yesterday my husband...ordered the Smoked Beef Brisket sandwich with fries and a side of gravy. He has ordered this at least three times and he says he's in a rut, but it's a GOOD rut! I was intrigued by the sound of the 'Mussels in Sambuca Sauce'. It's listed in the appetizer section but it's a large portion, comes with four really excellent slices of garlic bread to sop up the sauce, and is totally ample for an entree for one person. The sauce was AH-mazing! Dressed with some green onions, red and green peppers...it was simply a delighful meal! I'm usually pretty stingy with handing out five star reviews, but have been to this restaurant enough times and always enjoyed it....they deserve five stars
This is a nice restaurant with great service and food. There is quite a selection of meals from sandwiches to full mains. I had fish and chips and my wife had the beef brisket sandwich. Both included freshcut fries with soup or salad. Some previous...reviews said that it was expensive but for fish and chips is fairly normal. Our waitress was very attentive and the meals came quite quickly. The restaurant is right downtown in a beautifully renovated old building with exposed brick inside. Not a lot of tables due to Covid but well separated. Great place to dine
We were on a cross Canada drive and Fort Frances was one of our stops. This was a pleasant surprise, good service and good food
Service with our waitress was on point. She was smiling and polite. My salmon was amazingly delicious. The serving was perfect.Congrats to the chef. Will go back soon
Paid for "prime rib" french dip sandwich. Tasted like roast beef you'd get at a grocery store deli counter. Burger seemed to be from a store bought frozen patty. What?!? Ya know what, that's fine, if its an awesome burger, not even close...to good. Overpriced. Waitress never came by to ask how the food is and never asked when we were paying how things were. I never complain, but really did want to express my disappointment. Wish I had just told her anyway. Probably not a lot of other choices in Fort Frances, but McDonalds is definitely a better alternative
