When this restaurant first opened, it seemed fantastic. However, during my recent visits, both my friend and I have noticed that the owner and staff seem overwhelmed, often prioritizing takeout orders and phone calls over customers dining in. I really love this place! They have a good variety of vegetarian options and offer a wide selection of organic grains, nuts, and seeds. It's quite a large health food store by Niagara region standards and the only one in the area that carries vegan mac and cheese. The staff is fantastic; they were incredibly helpful in assisting me with my order for the right hemp protein powder and even helped me with special items at no extra cost. They also offer a great range of environmentally friendly body care products and vitamins, but I mostly focus on their food selection. They carry organic meats and produce, particularly potatoes. I highly recommend this place! The only downside for me is that it's quite far away, so I don’t get to visit often.
When this store first opened, it appeared to be fantastic. However, during my recent visits, both my friend and I have noticed that the owner and staff seem overwhelmed with online orders and phone calls, leaving little attention for customers in the store. Additionally, the prices are quite high. For example, The Peanut Mill in St. Catharines offers consistently lower prices, even though their staff may not be as knowledgeable. Since the Bulk Barn opened on the same street, this store seems to have reduced its standard inventory of items and teas, perhaps to avoid direct competition. Nonetheless, the selection is impressive, especially considering the size of the city. I've heard from a friend that they are very accommodating with special orders and competitive in terms of pricing for those orders.
I absolutely love this place! They offer a great selection of vegetarian options and have a bulk section for organic grains, nuts, and seeds. As far as health food stores in the Niagara area go, this one is quite large. It's also the only store in the region that sells Vegan Mac Chreese, which is a huge plus! The staff here are fantastic—they were incredibly helpful in assisting me with selecting the right hemp protein powder and even ordered it for me at no extra charge. They have a broad range of body care products and vitamins, but their main focus is definitely on food. Additionally, they provide organic meats and some organic produce, mostly potatoes. I highly recommend this place! The only downside for me is the distance, which means I don’t get to visit often. - Beans
When this restaurant first opened, it seemed fantastic. However, during my recent visits, both my friend and I have noticed that the owner and staff seem overwhelmed, often prioritizing takeout orders and phone calls over customers dining in. Additionally, the prices are quite high. The Peanut Mill in St. Catharines generally offers lower prices than this place, and their staff is consistently more knowledgeable. Since The Shovel opened, their selection seems to have diminished, and they don’t appear to compete with bulk stores. On the plus side, their variety is impressive, especially considering the size of the city. A friend of mine mentioned that they are quite accommodating with special orders and competitive with their pricing for those as well.
