Jax Fish House Oyster - Fort Collins

I live in NJ. We are fortunate to have some of the greatest food in the world within our reach. Jax was an extremely pleasant surprise!! The service and food were excellent!! Kudos!!

The waiter was less than ideal compared to previous times. Another waiter actually picked up my wife's purse and moved it without asking say he needed more room. The new wine list was bad at best. We had to order three appetizers in order to get full. At over 300.00 dollars, I would say there are much better options in Fort Collins.

I only trust so many places with oysters, and besides Jax's excellent oyster choices they have a great menu. The burger is solid, and I highly recommend the gumbo.

The food does not seem to be quite as good as it used to be in the last couple years. The service was good. I would avoid the gumbo fries (and maybe the gumbo), as they are almost inedible because of their saltiness. I had the mussels. They were decent. The seafood chowder was good but not great. Probably not worth the money. The flavor just wasn't there for me. My wife had the Mahi, my dad had the Ahi... Again there just wasn't anything that amazing about the flavor. Nothing to write home about. I think it is getting to where it is more expensive to eat there than it's worth. Some of the magic seems to be lost.

Wonderful experience had a slight quality problem with the caviar, manager responded appropriately and made it right! Oysters and mussels were some of the best I've had would highly recommend!
