We booked and turned up with a huge group. Sandwiches, chips and salad, exactly as required, freshly made, very tasty. There was efficient and friendly service and very nice surroundings a traditional bar, outside cabins, conservatory or garden. The pub is right in the Forest of Dean get there on foot or by bike, trails lead to the door. View all feedback.

Welcome was different and we were told to wait as they were busy. We had pre booked a table but the table was not reserved. We were given a table that was reserved for someone else and was told they were sick and not coming. Food was quick to arrive my partner enjoyed his scallops. This restaurant is wonderful, with attentive staff who went above and beyond for us. The food was delicious, and even though we were full and couldn't have dessert, it was a nice touch to end the meal.
The atmosphere at this restaurant was very welcoming and friendly. We went for drinks in the early evening and found it to be a lovely country pub with a special touch.
We had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The presentation of the food was beautiful and everything tasted delicious. The staff was very friendly and despite being understaffed, they provided excellent service. We will definitely be returning to try other dishes on the menu that we didn't get to try this time. Thank you for a fantastic meal.
Sunday lunch today 03-12-23 beef lunch was absolutely fantastic, beef perfectly cooked veg was also very freshly cooked, can never fault the service and friendly staff. Be back soon guys.
All food locally sourced, cuisine on a level to top London hotels. Everything homemade, bread etc and top ingredients. Service was personal, efficient and kind. Excellent atmosphere. Wonderful experience, sad to leave. Not the normal experience one would expect from a county inn.
