this place is very nice for a group trip. we celebrated my father's birthday and had a great time. service was attentive and gracious, eating was served in gigantic portions and very tasty and there are many drinks options, also for non-beer diners. View all feedback.
Sauerbraten and potato pancakes are fabulous! Also loved the pea soup. Was sorry we didn’t have room for dessert!
We've been there many times before and as before, MO of FH didn't disappoint. My problem with eating there is my eyes. I.e., my eyes lead me into temptation and as a 9-yr. old Weight Watcher who's lost and kept off ca. 30 lbs. since my retirement in 2010, I am led toward excess by the sheer attractiveness of the place and what it has to offer. For ex., there's the golden hue of their brew selection. I'm not a beer drinker as such, but I can't resist a Radler before and during the main course. Then there's the Schnitzlers. Pick any one and you can't go wrong. Huh! I usually slough desert (going on 80 next birthday! , but the Apfel Strudel a la mode was to die for! To sum up, I had to walk the 0.75 miles home across QB to insure I would be able to sleep the evening we were there. P.s. The rest of the family waved as they drove past me up Yellowstone Blvd. to the comfort of our rooftop apt. YY. I wish all who read this a similarly cheerful and satisfying trip to this stellar neighborhood bar and restaurant.
This place is very nice for a group outing. We were celebrating my dads birthday and had a great time. Service was attentive and gracious, food was served in gigantic portions and very tasty and there's plenty of drink options, even for non-beer drinkers.
Hands down best German food in Queens. Food is always excellent, beers are cold and prices are right.
