I have dined at this restaurant multiple times and have always enjoyed the delicious food and excellent service. However, during my most recent visit, our order took longer than usual and it took almost an hour for our food to arrive. I requested a dish that was not on the menu (as all the ingredients were available in other dishes) and was told they could accommodate my request. Unfortunately, the chef seemed to not prioritize my order because it was not listed on the menu. Additionally, one of the staff members was seen wearing sunglasses indoors and complaining about the busy crowd. This experience led me to believe there may have been a change in ownership, as we had never experienced such poor service before. The food was also quite pricey. I most likely will not be returning in the future.
I read other reviews before my wife and myself decided to visit?? Must have caught them on an off day,,my wife ordered the Beany nachos, not much care was taken to put together, and couldn't see anything that resembled or tasted Beany, with a clumpy lump of something...that resembled cheese that's been microwaved to much. I myself ordered the falafel burger with chips, looked very impressive, upon first bite it was dry and difficult to chew and some what over powered by too much hommus,so couldn't actually taste the rest off burger, the chips were good and tasty,as was our coffees. Portion size was very generous,,might have been better to go for quality not quantity..Wont be back unless cook/chef changes.
Located off Caves Road, this cafe is in a secluded area with little else around. When we visited, it was quite busy and we had to wait in a long queue to order food. We chose to sit on the verandah and despite it being December, it was quite warm. Unfortunately, the table was not very clean and there wasn't much effort to clear it. The service was slow, but the meals were good, although a bit expensive. I imagine it would be much more enjoyable during a cooler time of year when you can appreciate the view of the forest. Next door, there is a gallery with pricey artwork, so we decided to pass on visiting it.
Called in here after visiting Mammoth Cave, Ordered our food and went to find a table outside to eat at. Had to clear plates and crockery to clear a table. Two other couples came soon after us and experienced the same problem. Food is good...however it's not difficult that staff clear tables when customers have finished their meals.
This little cafe is located in the middle of a karri forest with nothing else around except for the gallery next door, so the atmosphere is great. I can't comment on the lunch menu as we only stopped for coffee, but the chai latte was...perhaps the most delicious I have had anywhere and the scones with jam and cream were huge, super fresh and really tasty. A very pleasant place to stop for a coffee and a snack.
