A traditional cellar beer garden in Forchheim! We went there on Saturday for a snack after hiking. We ordered two schnitzels with fried potatoes. We were thrilled with the schnitzels and potatoes – fantastic, extremely affordable, and homemade! The draft beer in a stoneware mug was the perfect complement to the meal! We 'll be back... hopefully, the dishes stay this affordable; nothing cost more than €10.00 – unbelievable!

The Schaufel Keller in Forchheim is an absolute hit! I was there recently and can only rave about it. The onion roast beef was outstanding – perfectly cooked and tender as butter. The schnitzel with fried potatoes was also simply fantastic and surprisingly good value when I was there again. You rarely find such quality these days. The service was also top-notch: The staff is super friendly and quick to respond, making you feel at home immediately. If you're looking for good, home-style food in Forchheim that's still exceptionally delicious, you should definitely stop by the Schaufel Keller. I'll definitely be back.

For over 25 years, I've enjoyed a well-aged Löwenbräu from Buttenheim, delicious Franconian food, and a cozy little house in winter. In summer, there's plenty of beer garden seating. Always a pleasure!

The Schaufelkeller is simply beautiful, homey, and cozy. The service is friendly and quick. Prices are very fair. The portions are very good, and the food is simply delicious : The landlady is simply an institution. They always come up with daily specials on the menu. I like that the cellar focuses on traditional and uncomplicated dishes, and they are very delicious. Where else does a dish like fried potatoes with quark taste so good? And unlike other cellars, the landlady doesn 't go along with every price increase... The Schaufelkeller is also open in winter. The cellar building is tiny, but very quaint and cozy. Yes, when it 's full, it gets loud inside, but that 's just because of its size, and with the regulars and the regularly familiar faces, the cellar has a very familiar atmosphere. It 's easy to strike up a conversation, and everyone is very friendly. The way you 're greeted also has a bit of a coming home feel. I certainly hope I can go there for many years to come.
