I have been dining at Harambe for several years now, as it was one of the few African restaurants in Footscray. The food has consistently been delicious, offering a variety of meat, vegetarian options, and tasty desserts and drinks. The ambiance on the upper floor is captivating, filled with a variety of artworks and decorations. The staff have always been helpful and friendly during each of my visits. This is definitely one of my top favorite restaurants in all of Melbourne.
The food and service were excellent. We enjoyed a mixed meat and mixed vegetarian plate that was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable. I left feeling satisfied with the entire meal.
I am amazed that I have never thought to write a review for Harambe before. I have dined there many times and have tried various other Ethiopian restaurants in Melbourne, but I have to say that Harambe stands out. The decor is typical African eclectic, which adds to the charm. However, the real star here is the food. The vegetarian and non-vegetarian combos are perfect for sharing among a group of four, and the portions are incredibly generous. The flavors are diverse and authentic, with a fabulous variety of dishes to choose from. The service is personal and welcoming, and we are now regulars at the restaurant. I always bring new people to experience Harambe's amazing culinary offerings. This may not be a high-end dining experience, but it is the perfect place for a fun night out or a casual first date. I have also taken takeaway from here for a picnic at Werribee Zoo, which was a great solution. My only regret is that I no longer live in Melbourne and can only visit once or twice a year when I am back home.
I ordered chicken and all I was given was a plate with dirt on it, no drinks either. lol, I know theres a draught but I paid for fresh water for you guys!
Harambe died for our sins, he only took a kid for a swim without his mums permission, he didn't deserve this
