Oceanaire Seafood Room - Fontainebleau

I am not too fond of this place. A bit pricy, and crowed as far as I am concerned.

Quote from Oceanaire Web Site. We have dined at 4 different Oceanaire restaurants around the country many times over the past 10 years. When we moved from San Antonio one of our greatest expectations was finally to get great seafood without having to get on an airplane. Shortly after we arrived we saw the announcement that Oceanaire was opening in the Mary Brickell Village. We were thrilled. We have been regulars there at least a couple of times a week since it opened. It has been fantastic, the best seafood in Miami. It has been where we went for a casual evening or any special occasion with friends, happily spending hundreds of dollars. Any family or friends visiting Miami were taken or sent there. NO MORE!! The food is mediocre fried food such as served at Landry 's Seafood House, Red Lobster or Joe 's Crab Shack. Places we would only go once every three or four months. The seafood quality is significantly poorer, the preparation is fried, fattening and unhealthy. Healthy side dishes are gone. The food seems to have been prepared in advanced and then micro-waved for serving, not fresh seafood freshly prepared for the diner. What a terrible waste!

Traveling on business, and dining alone, is never much fun. And restaurants tend to treat single woman like leapers. But I hate eating at the same hotel every night. Oceanaire made me feel completely welcome and comfortable. The front staff sat me at a fantastic corner table so I didn't stick out like a sore thumb. And my head waiter, Carlos, was extremely courteous and professional if he was pissed off at having a single person at a table he certainly didn't show it. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any business women staying in downtown Miami. Oh, I forgot, the food was great.

Ate their several times and even though the prices are high, the service and food matched. THEN, I made an error on my credit card that the bank told me had to be resolved by the restaurant. $10 error; after multiple calls, they offered me a pickle ... a $25 gift certificate. That was 3 weeks ago. Still hasn 't come. What a shame!

Glad to have a new seafood restaurant in town but this one is definitely not worth price!!!!!! $32 for a lunch entree of blackened yellowtail filet without any sides is expensive....not to mention the $16 side of asparagus!!!!!! No need to say anymore...totally overpriced!!!!!!!
