Okay, I know this place is a chain. I could still be a rule (if they were not half an hour away from me). the place is beyond the dog friendly, they are dedicated to dogs. craft beers are cast from a fire hydrant, there is a dog menu ( rice, rice and huh, rice and bark,) and all kinds of dog decoration. as for the menu it is mixed with vegan options and they seem very open to change everything they can. they have mad... almost everything in the menu has milk, eggs or an animal by-product that cannot be taken out, but there is one really vegan option (if you ask them to leave the cheese) and that is the spaghetti squash with beetballs. it is delicious and filling. View all feedback.
Quite disappointed. I was planning a day for Mom and we drove two hours to get there. I had made a reservation the day before, as I know this place is busy at weekends. After I showed up at the time, I waited 10 minutes in a line to watch as they give away my reserved terrace table many times. Finally we were told that the terrace was full, we sat in a mostly empty restaurant on the smallest possible stand, in the dark, on the transport corridor from the kitchen. Our server was very nice, but surely it took time. I know that this is a big place and every short employee, but the manager seemed quite simple when she strolled around to smile people as they waited. Seems she could have been helpful somewhere. The food was good.
I really enjoyed their food. The fried devil eggs were good, but the bacon candy on top was DEVINE and made me wish we got just that. I had the fish and chips and those were yummy. My husband had the sticky ribs and umami fries. Next time I get fries I want a side of the umami sauce. I love how their fries are breaded and seasoned.
Had the fried hush puppies and chicken pot pie and Huckleberry Mule. Fried hush puppies were DELICIOUS and I would go back and eat more of them if I could! Chicken pot pie was a very standard pot pie. It hit the spot and was creamy, savory, and it felt like it was home-cooked. Nothing special but it wasn't bad. Huckleberry mule was really sweet and delicious at the top half (did not use a straw but the bottom flavor of Huckleberry puree was... unique? Not sure how to describe it but it certainly was new on my tastebuds. It's not for everyone but worth a try. The place was CROWDED when I went (Friday night and servers were really busy. Our server split the check in 7 ways for my table of 7, which was awesome. It took a bit of time to process the 7 checks and some orders ended up being switched on the checks, but I totally understand if there are several different orders and drinks placed at the same time. No big deal. Another thing to note is that the restaurant is full of pictures of dogs doing very active things like chasing balls or running. Very opposite of lazy dog :
The place was very busy but our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The chicken alfredo, beetball squashghetti, and bison meatloaf were all great. I also ordered a custom drink that fit my diet and they happily made it for me. Would love to go again to try more dishes!
Comfort food that meets the place. We went to the rotten dog when we passed through Sacramento and what delicious food in large portions! Loved the Brussels spits and the roasted chicken sandwich. You have such a large selection of dishes that everyone will enjoy. Every night there's a big happy hour deal.
