Definitely check it out! Grab some dumplings and enjoy them in your car or wherever you like. It's absolutely worth the trip, even if you're coming all the way from New Jersey!
White Bear in Flushing truly shines with its outstanding dumplings, making it a must-visit spot. The restaurant's menu boasts 34 different options, with the fan-favorite being the no. 6—a plate of wontons served with hot sauce. These wontons are a delightful combination of pork and vegetables, expertly wrapped in incredibly soft yet slightly chewy dough. An order comes with 12 wontons, which is perfect for a light meal or for sharing with friends. For those who want to enjoy the flavors of White Bear at home, they also offer the convenient option to purchase 100 frozen wontons. This makes White Bear not only a dining destination but also a great resource for anyone looking to recreate their delicious flavors in their own kitchen.
The food here is absolutely fantastic—it's the most authentic I've experienced outside of China. Everything is freshly prepared and served within minutes. While there isn’t any seating available, it’s not an issue as long as the weather isn’t too chilly; you can simply stand nearby and savor your meal.
The GOAT of wontons. Been coming here for many years, honestly surprised they're still surviving post covid. An elderly couple runs this, they have a sizeable menu but the main star is the #6, a dozen wontons in hot chili oil with pickled mustard greens. I don't know how they do it, but the acidic saltiness of the greens combined with the magical spices they used is scalding hot) heaven in your mouth. Inflation is catching up to them $10 for a dozen) but I think it's still worth it.
