**Restaurant Review: A Mixed Bag of Experiences**

Nestled in downtown Flushing is a beloved but polarizing fast-food spot known for its iconic hot dogs and coneys. Diners have expressed frustration with rising prices and inconsistent service, mentioning issues like sticky floors and rude staff. While some patrons enjoyed the fresh fries, root beer, and the nostalgia of its retro decor, others lamented unfulfilled orders and poor customer interaction. Despite its rich history, the restaurant's upkeep has been called into question, leaving guests wondering if the food experience is worth the hassle. Overall, it remains a place of cherished memories, albeit marred by recent setbacks.

What JediMasterBT Skywalker dislikes about Flushing A:

I've been coming here for many decades. Yesterday was the last time going to get my hotdogs here. Walked in and purchased ONLY 2 hot dogs to go. Cost over $8.50. FOR TWO HOTDOGS!!!!!! I will just go to Meijer and buy an entire package of hotdogs, buns, mustard and pocket the change. This is crazy, 2 hotdogs over $8.50. I left a tip to take it to even $10. Look up my receipt, inflation or penalized for ordering take o... View all feedback.

The lady who made our food tonight deserves a raise! best we’ve enjoyed in a very long time. everything was delicious. Parking: hit this location up for classic auto shows in the summer. Kid-friendliness: this is TheFlushingA of course it’s kid friendly. has a large super clean play park right behind it. Wheelchair accessibility: a fat person could wheel themselves with ease. Service: Take out

**Meal Type:** Dinner **Price per Person:** $10–20 **Food Rating:** 4/5 **Service Rating:** 4/5 **Atmosphere Rating:** 4/5 I had a delightful dinner at this restaurant. The food was impressive, particularly the Coney Dog, which was bursting with flavor. The onion rings were perfectly crispy and made a great side. I also enjoyed the fish and chips, which were cooked to perfection. The service was prompt and friendly, making for a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere was vibrant and inviting, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. I would definitely recommend trying the Coney Dog, onion rings, and fish and chips.

**Dine-in Experience** **Meal Type:** Dinner **Price per Person:** $20–30 **Food:** ★☆☆☆☆ **Service:** ★☆☆☆☆ **Atmosphere:** ★★★☆☆ The dining experience was disappointing overall. The food left much to be desired, receiving only one star for its quality. Service was also subpar, with another one-star rating due to inattentiveness and delays. The atmosphere did have some redeeming qualities, earning three stars for its ambience. Unfortunately, the negatives overshadowed the positives for a lackluster dinner outing.

Today my Family and I came for the first time and i was kinda flabbergasted at how sticky the floor was. Our server Hollie was wonderful ? we sat down ordered our food everything was going pretty good. I ordered a Crispy Chicken Salad it came out and the salad over flowed the bowl to the point I tried to start cutting up my chicken and I almost spilled my food all over the floor then they only gave 1 PACKET of ranch for a big salad like that. I wasn't impressed. My son had a club sandwich the mayo on it was WAYYY to much. My bf got a burger and it was the size of a half dollar on the bun. All in all. I won't be back. My whole family and I felt so sick when we left. Good luck to everyone going

Everyon liked their lunch. The root beer is delicious too. Dietary restrictions: Not really. Nothing is marked separately, but I got a bunless burger for gluten-free. Kid-friendliness: Crayons

The A is just as fantastic as I remember. It consistently exceeds my expectations, and the service is excellent.

We couldn’t believe we were eating at a root beer stand. The food was so delicious. Hand dipped batter fried fish. Hand dipped batter fried onion rings. How do I know this? because I’m a cook at a very nice restaurant in Jackson, Michigan. Even my 6-year-old triplet grandsons raved over the onion rings. When we asked for a couple of substitutions, the person taking our order said no problem each time. I asked for a frosted mug root beer, even though we were eating in our car instead of in the dining room. Again, no problem. I would go back to Flushing, all the way from Jackson, just to go to this root beer stand. The only thing that wasn’t so good, was the coleslaw. They need to ditch that recipe. The tuna melt and the cauliflower bites were also very good. Parking: The parking lot is very large. One part is a typical root beer drive-in stand where the waitress brings your order , sets it on a tray near the driver’s window. That’s what we did, but there’s also a dining room that’s very inviting. Kid-friendliness: We did not eat in the dining room, but eight in the fashion of a root beer drive-in stand in our car. But we did take the children in to the bathroom. The dining room did accommodate children. Lots of neat items on the kids menu even fish dinner.

The food arrived quickly, and the drinks and fries were enjoyable. However, the burger was quite bland and lacked seasoning. The floor was incredibly sticky—I've never experienced anything like it before. Overall, I won't be returning. Our server placed the check down along with the food and then never came back, which I've never encountered before.

This restaurant has really disappointed me. The food quality has declined, and it seems like the owners don't take pride in their establishment. What was once a decent place has become quite embarrassing. Flushing deserves much better dining options. The staff, who are all young and diligent, are doing their best, but they're working with subpar ingredients. It's time for some serious improvements or they should consider closing down.
