Contribute FeedbackThe Bocklweg is a cycle path on a former route. It begins in the district town of Neustadt a.d.Waldnaab and leads over disturbing stone, Raft, forest thrives to Eslarn. Parking at the starting point in Neustadt a.d.Waldnaab is located directly opposite the new railway station in Georgstraße. The history of the Bocklweg The railway line Neustadt Eslarn On 28. In April 1882, a Bavarian local railway law came into force, aimed at connecting regions that had no railway link to the railway network. By this law became the local railway line Neustadt WN – Vohenstrauß on 16. October 1886. A journey time of two and a half hours was required for the 25 km long route. In addition to passenger transport, timber transport played an important role. In 1908 the route was completed via Waidhaus to Eslarn to connect the many glass loops in Pfreimdtal to the railway. Until 1974 steam locomotives and many photographers and hobby filmers drove to the region. For economic reasons, Bahn AG has gradually closed the way from the 1970s. The transport of persons between Raft and Eslarn was extended in 1975 and the transport of goods between Vohenstrauß and Eslarn was discontinued in 1993. With effect from 1 December 1995, the final closure of the route from Neustadt WN to Eslarn took place.
