The dining experience is a simple one with good, fresh mostly fried foods. The service is always good and the fish is crispy and delicious! They only serve filet fish now (no longer whole catfish). Slaw is just ok, hush puppies are decent, but the fish is always great!! If you like catfish you will have to give them a try...don't think you'll be disappointed!!

They said it was good and had a nice flavor. I had chicken tenders, which I was hoping would also be fresh and hand breaded. Disappointed they weren't. They were frozen pre-breaded strips and had no flavor or taste. Could have made these myself at home. Won't order again. Slaw was good and the fries, well they are crinkle cut which I prefer. Overall good visit and would recommend. Just won't recommend the chicken tenders.

The filets are quite tasty, but I personally p... read more We have dined at Newbern's numerous times. Since the COVID pandemic, they have limited their menu to filets only. The filets are quite tasty, but I personally prefer whole fish. I've noticed that the prices for fish have gone up a bit since COVID as well.
