The Mrs had the meal for one, which w... read more Well, tonight we tried a meal from Jim's, the reviews on here are great, so what have you been eating? Here's what we had. The Mrs had the meal for one, which was fine. I ordered the special omelet that comes with chips and pea as per their menu, which we specifically asked for, my omelete came on a bed of fried rice and was so salty I couldn't eat it, who on earth has rice with an omelete anyway. I also ordered a yung chow fried rice and a pot of sweet and sour sauce, the sweet and sour sauce was vile. Personally, I will never eat from there again, my food was horrible. On the plus side the wife likes their curry. Never again for us unfortunately.

To find out that the chips are now frozen chips shocked me, salt pepper chicken wings overcooked and just general dissatisfaction with the meal. I'll definitely be finding a new favourite

For starters... read more Shame that I am having to write this review as this used to be a fantastic chippy but clearly in the recent years it has drastically gone downhill. For starters, all food is cooked in the back even though there are fryers at the front of the shop, which seems like you are trying to hide something. Ordered Fish and chips which was edible but chips were definitely frozen and not your usual chippy chips. Not sure what the fish was, didn’t taste like cod or haddock and that was definitely frozen too. Thought it would have been fresh considering the wait. Also didn’t offer salt and vinegar which was very unusual. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
