It was a wonderful experience in a warm and charming setting of one of the oldest structures in the area and the old tax collection house. I was delighted to find the building had been restored in a thoughtful manner, incorporating the history of Flims and maintaining the integrity of the original building. Additionally, the art work of local artists has been seamlessly integrated into the design; most notably in the inclusion of a plafond ceiling feature by Alois Carigiet so special! The interiors aside, the cuisine was remarkable with a fantastic selection of charcuterie and cheeses bookending our meal. We shared two very generous serves of the risotto and ravioli which were exquisitely executed and rich in flavour without being overwhelming. Dessert was of course a non negotiable for the meal, and I thoroughly enjoyed the panna cotta!It is Italian cusine at its best both sophisticated and humble; delectable and equally comforting as if from the kitchen of Mama (or Nonna). It was evident the produce was fresh, the chefs italian, the kitchen open. The staff were attentive and captured the quintessential friendliness of the Italians... and the Swiss!Restaurant Cavigilli was the perfect end to a long day on the slopes, a warm and friendly experience in an idyllic setting amongst the traditional homes of Flims' village and only a stone's throw from the local church making the evening walk from the restaurant just as charming as the dining experience. I highly recommend dining here for it was a wonderful culinary affair!

The food is Italian and absolutely delicious from the cold meats to the pasta and the cheese and desserts. We ordered the cold cut meats as starters and they were just perfect with a wide variety. The sage ravioli was the best I have ever had, and the risotto with ham was yum as well. I wish I had space for the mains which looked good I will next time either have the fish or the veal dish. The steak option also looked good.Ofcourse there is always space for dessert and I am glad I indulged. The panacotta was delicious and so was the apple desserts and the tiramisu. They do a trio of mini desserts with coffee which is a great option.The cheeses were fantastic and there was so much variety. I liked the grape cheese the best. And the warm walnut breads they served with it was just awesome and so was the prune jam. Even the bread they gave us in the beginning was yum!The service was very good and friendly and not intrusive at all. This place has a great wine selection as well and a private room with a wine cellar if you want to host a small event. I would recommend exploring a little. This is a small restaurant but one room has a ceiling which was painted by a famous Swiss painter (sorry I forget the name and the other room has some nice photographs and a quaint green wall which adds to the charm.Absolutely worth very Swiss franc that you spend here!

Old charming house, beautifully renovated, located in the old part of the village.Very friendly staff and owner, they make you feel comfortable and make great j... read more Old charming house, beautifully renovated, located in the old part of the village.Very friendly staff and owner, they make you feel comfortable and make great job, very good Service.Very good food: Caesars salad, braised beef and potatoes and as dessert apple tart with coffee ice cream all dishes were very good and the apple tart to die for!Nice selection of wine, also small bottles and by the glass.Definitely one of the best restaurants in the village, thanks to the owners also a great service, so when I am in the region I will come back!
