Le Matelot - Fleury

I do not understand the bad reviews that Le Matelot has been given. We have eaten here several times over the past few years including twice this August and have never had a bad meal or poor service. We had lunch here the last 2 Sundays and the food was fine. We all had different menus including pizzas, seafood, meat and pasta and none of us was disappointed. The puddings are mainly homemade and were excellent. I have recommended this restaurant to other people and will eat here again next time we're in the area.

At the end of the season, quick service, the mussels were good, we particularly appreciated that the mussels and fries were not drowned in salt. Friendly waitress

We went several times this summer to eat in this cheap restaurant as we see many near the beaches. alone or with our little children, we were not looking for a gourmet restaurant. we had not read before all these unfavourable opinions and we are surprised because each time the wait, the value/price ratio and the welcome gave us satisfaction. That’s what makes us think.

The staff is smiling but it doesn’t make it forget the waiting time we had. We were two having an entrance except we were forgotten. We ate our entrance at the same time as the person who had not but whose main dish was served. the dishes in question were not exceptional. All this is a shame because the staff is really nice.
