3.5 overall, but 4 stars for the tamales. Tasty food. A tad overpriced, but what isn’t these days? I got chicken flautas and was underwhelmed. It seemed like everything needed just a little more seasoning. But overall it was fresh and I would go back.
What Tansy McGee doesn't like about El Ranchero Tacos And Grill:
Yesterday was my 1st time eating here. I ordered 3 tacos that came up to $17. Let’s just say I should have keep my money in my pocket because I got hella sick after eating here. My stomach was so upset it wasn’t even funny. I’m so happy I didn’t eat the 3rd taco or I would have really had problems. I’m think the meat or something was spoiled. Whatever it was, they will NEVER get my money again. I basically paid $17 t... View all feedback.
This is my third location on a Wednesday night. We're clearly the hours of operation are on the door and also on yelp and Google and they are closed. hours are stated Monday through Saturday 10:30 AM to 9 PM and it is a Wednesday at 7:50 PM.
I didn't eat their food, I'm writing this review based on the experience. We drove over to get some chicken tacos that were advertised on their website for $1.50, if you order in store. When my husband got to the door, there was a sign on the door that said mask required. My husband ran back to the car to get one. When he went into the restaurant, he noticed that the workers weren't wearing one so he asked about the sign and the person at the counter told him that that was an old sign. He then put his order in for 8 tacos and a burrito and when the bill was over $35, he asked about the tacos and he was told that that was an old price. Seriously! Don't these people believe in changing their signs and advertisements. This totally wasted our time and left us scrambling for lunch ideas before my husband had to go to work. We could have paid the full price of the tacos but we were so annoyed that we were not going to give them our business. We will just continue giving our business to Robertos.
When it comes to food, I am very picky because who wants to eat food that looks good on a picture but it doesn't taste good when you eat. This is the reason why I'm doing reviews every time I went to some places. But let me tell you this place is good. This restaurant is like fast food Mexican restaurants but the food is great. I bought chicken bowl and quesadilla chicken. So good. I can taste that they marinate the chicken to make taste better, the rice cook perfect. Love it. They have a good tamales. I've been searching for a year to find good tamales but can't find the good one but this restaurant have good tamales(verde tamales: soft texture is not hard or somewhat dry, the taste is good have the spicy kick to eat, perfect). Sorry don't have the picture for that tamales. I recommend this place.
