I ordered a dirty chai, but when a rush hit, I waited 20 minutes without receiving my drink. The staff seemed flustered and curt, and didn’t inform me when my drink was ready, leaving it sitting on the counter even longer. When I finally got it, the barista offered to microwave it instead of making a fresh one. By then, it had been 40 minutes, and my drink was lukewarm. This was the first time a café has offered to microwave my drink. The one star is solely because the drink tasted good when I finally received it. I suggest hiring staff who can better handle busy times, or increasing staffing, and offering better compensation when orders are missed. With so many options downtown, I wouldn’t recommend Val’s.
