The pastries are excellent and the space is cozy. Cold brew is my usual but I've enjoyed the other drinks I have tried as well except the Thai tea (a little watery). The chai in particular is notably better than what you would get at Starbucks. Parking is less than desirable. View all feedback.
I had a wonderful experience at this place! A few years ago, they hosted my bridal shower, and today I returned with my little one. The variety of pastries is even greater (and somehow even more delicious) than I remembered, and the staff is still incredibly friendly. I didn’t know they could prepare hot drinks at a "kid temperature" to prevent any burns, but Remy suggested it, and it was fantastic! Both child and mom approved! Thank you!
Overall, our experience was quite disappointing. While visiting Flagstaff, we decided to check out what was supposedly the top-rated coffee shop in the area, but it did not live up to expectations. We ordered several pastries and a peanut butter chocolate frozen frappe, and everything just fell flat. The frappe had no flavor, the garlic pastry was unappetizing to the point that we had to spit it out, and the banana chocolate pastry was served cold; the barista didn’t even offer to warm it up, though honestly, I doubt it would have made much of a difference. The pumpkin vanilla bread was the only thing that was somewhat decent and edible. We also felt uncomfortable due to some strange looks we received, which was surprising given that Flagstaff is not particularly diverse. Our cashier/barista wasn't very friendly either. All in all, we won’t be returning.
The ambiance of the restaurant is truly charming, and I thoroughly enjoyed the sweetness of my Samoa latte from the seasonal specials menu. The combination of cookie butter, chocolate, and coconut was delightful. The prices are somewhat higher than at other places, and there's an additional charge of nearly a dollar for alternative milk. Around 11 a.m., the place was relatively quiet, making for a serene atmosphere. They play soft piano music over the speakers, and the interior temperature is quite comfortable. I particularly appreciate the glass walls, which effectively muffle the noise from the road. However, I did notice that there are only a few parking spots available in front of the building, along with two designated for to-go orders.
I absolutely love this restaurant! I highly recommend visiting on weekends in the morning. My top picks are the Cuffin, Pear and Almond, and the Banana Chocolate Turnover! I'm also a firm believer that the Chocolate Walnut scone is seriously underrated. This spot is definitely a must-visit in Flagstaff. Although parking can be a bit challenging, there's a church nearby where Cedar House customers can park. The staff are fantastic as well!
This lovely local coffee shop shines with its freshly baked pastries made daily on-site, providing a wonderful selection of treats that pair perfectly with their superb coffee. The Americano, in particular, is exceptional—rich and always expertly crafted. The warm ambiance and welcoming service create an inviting space that's a must-visit for coffee aficionados and pastry lovers alike.
