Contribute FeedbackBrix, a highly anticipated dining destination in Flagstaff, fell short of expectations for some visitors. Complaints included lackluster service, uneven patio seating, small portion sizes, and underwhelming flavors that needed salt. However, there were positive reviews as well, with praise for fresh ingredients, flavorful dishes like bolognese and sirloin, and attentive service. The restaurant was described as a great spot for special occasions, offering delicious food despite high prices. Overall, while Brix may have its flaws, it remains a popular choice for those seeking a fine dining experience in Flagstaff.
Great place to celebrate a special occasion. Enjoy a date night or just wow you're a taste buds. Brix has one of the best wine lists in Flagstaff but cocktails to match. We thoroughly enjoyed that Arizona sake cocktail that was right and refreshing. Thefood is all high quality with fantastic scallops. Grouper was the special for the evening and that was absolutely cooked toperfection. But the baseline for any good restaurant. It's the vegetables and their vegetable platter was on point which justsets the foundation for your entire meal. If you can get the patio seating that is quite enjoyable during the nicer time of yearas it reminds you of an almost British style restaurant with the trees and vines growing around the tables.
Well, we had really high hopes. I 've heard so many folks talk about how great this place is and I frequent their sister Proper Meats. The photos looked great, the menu sounded amazing. We decided to splurge for our anniversary, and well, it was prettydisappointing. 1) service was lack luster. Maybe saw our server 3 times that night. She never even asked us if we wantedanother glass of wine. 2) we reserved a table outside. The weather was perfect. The concrete patio...not so much. We had a nicelittle slope to contend with which made the chairs and table wobbly. 3) Someone previously stated they were disappointed thatthey received 4 small slices of duck breast...well, we only got 2 slices (about 4 bites worth for $38) and a sad salad withit. The fish was good, portioned appropriately but nothing to brag about. Sadly, all the food needed salt. We left for anotherestablishment for drinks and dessert to celebrate. Unfortunately, due to the experience we had, we won 't be back again.
I had Mother’s Day brunch with my daughter outside on the patio. She had the steak and eggs, we shared the crepes and I had the shrimp and grits. Everything was full of flavor and a perfect combination of spices. And the servers were kind andattentive. I’d definitely return.
Bolognese was absolutely delicious, and the sirloin was incredibly soft, and asparagus was so perfectly roasted The homemade pasta was really incredible, and made me ache for more when the dish was done. The maple bacon brussel sprout appetizer was alittle too sweet, but was roasted perfectly. The purple cauliflower soup was a little thin, but had a good flavor. Chocolatemousse was very rich, just big enough for two people. Overall, the food was delicious, portions are really quite small, andcost is very high. With limited fine dining options in Flagstaff, this is one of the best.
Ambiance 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Value 4/5 The menu is diverse and creative. The roast duck and duckfat grits were incredible and I highly recommend it, i just wish I had a little more plum reduction! The bolognese was executed well perfecttexture, and the noodle had a delightful savory quality all on its own, without even the sauce (which was also very good, if noton the salty side). There were too many interesting options from the starters but I enjoyed the complexity of the mushroomtortellini. Although the portions are small, everything else is excellent. The service was stellar and the atmosphere is verytasteful and intimate. Perfect for a date night!
