Kantan's journey began in the midst of the stage 4 lockdown in September 2020, when we took our first steps by offering currypuffs and coffee to navigate the tough times. As restrictions started to lift, we expanded our menu to include Hainanese Chicken Rice, which we proudly served for a short but memorable two weeks. Since those humble beginnings, our culinary offerings have flourished, bringing forth a delightful assortment of Malaysian favorites such as Mee Siam, Nasi Lemak, Roti Jala, Curry Laksa, and our signature house-made Teh Tarik. With the conclusion of our original lease, we seized the opportunity to establish a new location that would accommodate the growth of Kantan, enhancing our retail, catering, and restaurant experiences. Now, as we celebrate our journey in September 2024, we are thrilled to announce our new home at 152 Kerr Street, Fitzroy. This space embodies the essence of a true restaurant, complete with all your beloved dishes and an updated menu, ensuring there’s something for everyone every time you drop by. We are incredibly grateful for your unwavering support and can’t wait to welcome you back to experience the warmth of Kantan.
