Gosh you can get some good food delivered these days. We had this off Uber Eats, courtesy of my younger son, and it was absolutely delicious I'd have to say. I had the calamari, chips and an Asian salad. It was really lovely and the serves were fairly generous. Bravo.

Now, unfortunately, the quality and size portions have dropped. I've given it a few shots but am no longer interested.

We had the john dory (grilled) and calamari (grille... read more If you feel like fish and chips but want a big menu to peruse, Hooked has a huge range of options and sides. We had the john dory (grilled) and calamari (grilled). We opted for a 'healthy' side of sweet potato chips, some brown rice, asian slaw and asian greens. This was a huge meal (apart from the sort of measly sized john dory fillet). I really enjoyed the brown rice, it had a really nice almost gluggy texture that just went well with the rest of the meal. The calamari was nice, although I probably prefer mine a little overcooked and chewy (I'm not used to having fish cooked properly!) The other options on the menu that looked enticing were the burgers, including the fish cheeseburger. If I was feeling a little hungrier and also not trying to eat as healthily, I would have definitely given this a go. Also I would have liked to try the good old battered flake and some potato cakes.

There was not much money spend on the decor but the shop was busy. There was a small selection of fish to select from and they were packaged with a choice of chips or rice and served with a variety of salads. The fish can be grilled or battered. Good quality fish well cooked and can be purchased via Uber Eats. Wine, beer and soft drinks are available

The lunch special in terms of price, serving, options, etc is excellent. So highly recommend taking advantage of that. Dam fine calamari, fish, salad, rice or chips is excellent. Service ranges from terrible to acceptable. I’ve had cooks managing the register who couldn’t work out pricing let alone change for twenty dollars. Thought to serving customers instead of answering time wasters on the phone. Wouldn’t go out of my way, stay away for dinner, but lunch is pretty good

The food at this fish and chip shop was excellent in a casual restaurant setting. The staff was friendly, the dishes were served hot and delicious, the portions were generous, the prices were fair, the decor was tasteful, the music was pleasant, and the best part was the ice-cold beer. I give it two thumbs up.
