We kicked off our evening with cocktails at the bar, where we were greeted by the friendly bartender, Steve Martin. It's no surprise that the bar area quickly filled up, given the charming supper club atmosphere, delicious cocktails, and welcoming crowd. We'll definitely be back! View all feedback.
What MenuPix User doesn't like about Greenwood Supper Club:
Terrible experience! I wouldn’t even give it one star if I could help it. I will NEVER return! It used to be one of our favorite places, but it has declined significantly, even since last year. View all feedback.
Temporarily Closed 6/2023. No idea why or if they will return. Sad. Maybe Covid killed
The scallop dinner featured three delicious scallops, but it felt more suited for lunch than dinner due to the small portion size. The T-bone steak, however, was outstanding and cooked to perfection. As they are a new establishment, it's understandable that they are still adjusting their inventory; unfortunately, they had run out of baked potatoes and Caesar salad, and the selection of dressings was limited. Overall, we look forward to coming back soon to see if these initial bumps in the road have been addressed. The staff were friendly and attentive.
If you know me, you know I know supper clubs. I have been to the Greenwood a couple of times over the past 20 years. I would have gone more but it's hard to find it open. I only give it two stars because the resturant staff was very nice and the food was decent. What is sad is this place has such great potential. It has a great history. The grounds are beautiful. Good location. A good size dining room. A big bar and the food I had was good. So you ask yourself then what's wrong? Well it's hard to put my finger on it but I don't think it's just one thing. I think it's lots of little things. First the bar. Large but cluttered and dated. Get rid of the video poker machines and the ugly wallpaper and ugly light shades. Replace the smelly carpet with an easy to clean hard surface. Don't have bartenders that eat the customers food. With all the staffing problems they have had the last couple years their must be an internal issue. They need to fix that and set their hours and stick to them. If you are short on staff that you can't seat all the tables, then take some of the tables out and give people more space. I don't want you to tell me there's a half hour wait when there's 9 open tables. I felt like you just wanted me to go to the bar and buy a drink. Don't be cheap and try to get every cent from the customers you have. $19 for a white fish fish fry that is one piece of fish is too much. The soup was extra. The fish was cooked right but take the skin off next time. The clam chowder was good but too thick and gloopy. Thin it out with some stock and add more clams. And the no refills on soda. Come on. That's like 25 cents of product. And get a website already. Lots of little things add up.
Oh dear, where do I even begin? Tonight was our first visit to the Greenwood Supper Club. Having grown up in Door County, I had heard about this place for years, so my husband and I decided it was finally time to try it out. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. My husband ordered a half-pound Angus cheeseburger, and when it arrived, it was no thicker than a McDonald's hamburger. It came without any lettuce, tomato, onion, or any other toppings. He ended up sending it back. I opted for a light meal, choosing a cup of soup and a salad. The turkey noodle soup had no flavor, and the dinner salad consisted of just iceberg lettuce with a few slices of cucumber. It certainly wasn't worth the $9.95 they charged for what they called a “large” salad! Save yourself the trouble and choose another restaurant in Door County—you'll be glad you did.
I had a great experience at this restaurant and found the food to be quite enjoyable. The classic supper club ambiance was a highlight for us. However, the only downside was that our waiter, Eric, made some inappropriate and unsettling comments.
