It might be expensive but the 6.50 Euro small cup of gelato was twice the size of other places 3.5 euro small. The flavors were amazing- coffee was rich, strawberry was wonderful with real strawberry chunks and the mint was an intense mint flavor. Would go back. View all feedback.
What carpeee doesn't like about Pontevecchio:
A great place if you want to get ripped off.... Unclear pricing policy: we paid 13 euros for two ice creams. Now checking other reviews it seems like the price changes depending on who you are and when you arrive. The ice cream was good but at that price we were certainly expecting caviar or gold pieces. Unlucky us! it seems like the waiter apparently forgot them... A shame for a beautiful city like Florence! View all feedback.
Awful! Horrible! Tourist trap!!! They overcharged us and give no tastings. AVOID!!!!! You have to pay to use the bathroom according to the old hag who runs the place. (When you order small they will give you medium and charge you for it)
Went for gelato. Asked for a taste before deciding and was told, emphatically, NO. Ordered 4. Sat at one of THEIR tables outside and was promptly told we were not allowed to sit there. The female worker was nasty nasty nasty. Lots of gelato places.Go elsewhere. Do not spend your money at this unfriendly establishment.
These guys are thief’s. I ordered 5 ice cream with each 2 flavours and I had to pay 31 euro. I had one Italian friend helping me and the feedback he received was “ it’s not our fault, your friend made a mistake because he cannot speak Italian”. So if you are Asian they can screw you. They are scumbags and someone should put them in jail for being thieves. Ice cream is mediocre and there is nothing homemade about this. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER should you buy anything there.
